When a tooth is fractured, has a large, old filling, or is severely damaged by decay, your dentist may recommend the placement of a crown. A crown is a full coverage restoration designed to fit over your own natural tooth. It can be made from porcelain which is then fused to metal, or gold.

A good crown is designed to match your natural tooth color and shape and is cemented over your natural tooth. While a veneer requires adequate remaining tooth structure for support, crowns can be adhered to a tooth that sustained a significant trauma or loss--they can even be used to replace missing teeth.

Porcelain Crowns:
• Restore broken or fractured teeth
• Strengthen root canal teeth
• Improve biting abilities
• Replace large unsightly fillings
• Make cosmetic improvements
